Curious about digital photography?

It is important to realise that there is no such thing as a perfect camera, one that will be the best for everyone. Although we sometimes talk about 'cameras of the year' or 'top picks', such lists and awards are really of little consequence. The camera that wins most accolades may not be the one that is most suitable for you. The important thing you need to do is to think about what you want from a camera; you need to know what the various specifications mean, and to work out which is the best for you. Even those aspects that can easily be quantified - such as the number of pixels the sensor records - are not always straightforward. For some people a 2 megapixel (Mp) camera may be a better choice than a 4 Mp model. Even where image quality is important, you cannot assume that a 5 Mp camera will necessarily give better results than a 3 Mp model. As in life, other things are seldom equal.

1. First, create a new image 2x2px and using the Pencil Tool (set to 1px), draw image as you can see it below. Try to Zoom In ( View -> Zoom In ) to do it easier. Define your pattern ( Edit -> Define Pattern ) and close the image 2. Open two images. One you want to hide and the other you want to hide first in. In my example, I took to hide recycle logo in Leonardo da Vinci portrait. 3. Create a new image the same size as your other two images and paste both your images onto it. The two images should be on two separate layers. Move the cover image layer above the hidden image layer. Create a new layer and move it above the hidden image layer but below the cover image. Fill ( Edit -> Fill ) this layer with the pattern you made in Step 1. Change the Blending Mode of this layer to "Exclusion". 4. Change the Blending Mode of this layer to "Exclusion". 5. Click on the image you want to hide on the Layer palette, and nvert the colors, by going "Image -> Adjustments -> Invert (or press Ctrl-I)" 6. Change to opacity of the cover image to change how well you can see the hidden image (Recycle logo), I used 70% opacity.First, create a new image, 200x200 pixels and fill the background with white. Create a new layer [Shft+Ctrl+N]. Then; use the Rectangular/Elliptical Marquee Tools [M] to create any shape you want. Now we need to select our shape. Do it by holding Ctrl and clicking on this layer with the left button of your mouse. The next step is to add layer mask to our shape. Click on button, this willadd layer mask. Then, deselect the layer [Ctrl+D]. On the top toolbar, go to Filter| Blur | Gaussian Blur... The window with options will open; select the value of the Radius that will make your shape smooth. I used 4.0. To make our job easier, we need to make our layer mask visible. Do it by holding Alt and clicking on the layer mask with the left button of your mouse. Now, we need to adjust levels of our image. To do it go to Image | Adjust | Levels... The window with options will open and you will see 3 triangles. Use your mouse to drag all of them to the center and you will notice that your shape will start to look smooth. Play around with different triangle positions to get the result you want.

The resolution of your computer's monitor can greatly affect the outcome of your photos. This is the amount of pixels there are on the screen. The more there are, generally, the better the quality of the images. Making sure you have a monitor that is suited for photo editing is an important part of the process. However, you must remember that certain resolutions are meant for certain sized monitors. A large resolution on a small monitor makes everything too small, whereas the opposite makes everything too big. Make sure you know what resolution your monitor is made for.

In Digital photography, enhancement is very helpful to help you edit your pictures. Sometimes an original looks so bad, it appears as if nothing can be done to help it. Not true! A couple commonly used enhancements are angle correction of slanted pictures and barrel and pincushion correction. The angle correction basically defines itself in the title. If the picture is slightly titled then the angle correction enhancement will help it out quite a bit. One thing the tool needs to have is anti-aliasing. Barrel and pincushion correction is used to fix slanted horizons that were caused by the camera being used to zoom up as far is could go. These enhancements are used mainly for generally annoying changes that some people wouldn't even notice unless it was dramatic, but are useful nonetheless.

Want to learn how to create your own word shadowing technique? Here it is in four easy steps: 1. Open a new document. (The size I used is 500x100) Now type some text, doesn't really matter what. (I used Arial Black 36pt) 2. Now hit CTRL + A(=select all), CTRL + C(=copy) and then CTRL + V(=paste). You have now copied the layer. Move the new layer exactly above the original text layer. Hit CTRL + T(=transform) and click the right mouse button, select "flip vertical". Now move the layer down by dragging it or using the arrow keys. 3. Hit CTRL + T again and now select "Perspective". Move the lower right box to the right. 4. Now simply go to the layers window and lower the opacity of the "reflection layer" to whatever you want. (I used 25%)

If you are considering if you want a camera, you should set yourself a price agreement before going online or visiting an electronics shop. Purchasing a digital camera is just like getting any other large item like a house. There are thousands of options and often you can get puzzled. Before you go buying a gigantic high-end SLR camera, think about the smaller, yet more effective camera. High-end cameras offer the best zoom, the most added features and more megapixels. When you have more megapixels it doesn't mean you will have the best picture condition. As a beginner in the camera world it would be wise to not spend a huge about of money on a high on camera. It is better to look for less expensive, yet powerful, compact digital cameras that are a lot easier to hold and pack around. It is most recommended learn the basics with this digital camera and make sure you enjoy the hobby before spending extra money.
